THEATRE AND A MEAL!
On Friday 24th March, Year 3 went to see the live adaptation of David Walliams’ Demon Dentist
The book tells the story of a boy called Alfie and his best friend Gabz, a girl who doesn't talk a lot. One day their headteacher invites Miss Root, an evil and petrifying dentist into school to give a talk on dental hygiene. And that's where the adventure really starts.
The theatre adaptation was full of twists and dramatic scenes, with a moped and a flying can of laughing gas! There was a mysterious eyeball and a terrifying cat called Fang. The production involved lots of flashing lights and smoke effects, making the children scream and coo in both delight and fear! The actors were amazing and they were singing and dancing at the same time. We were all impressed with how many lines they had to remember.
After the theatre we had a short walk to Wagamama for lunch. The children had a delicious meal of katsu or ramen, followed by an ice pop. The children were so well behaved and were amazed to see the head chef, lighting the frying pan and shooting flames into the air! Children enjoyed the experience and were trying to use the chopsticks to eat their food. The staff had even organised a colouring competition, with one child winning a Wagamama cook book and 4 runner ups winning branded caps! Every child received a goody bag as they left the restaurant. Overall it was an amazing day!
