Farewell rocking rolling riding
Our fabulous finish to our spring term topic.
We have learnt a lot and experienced so many wonderful things during our Rocking, Rolling, Riding topic this term but all good things must eventually come to an end. The topic started with a Design Technology day that gave pupils the opportunity to build and fire their own rockets powered by vinegar and baking soda. We then had a trip to Duxford Air Museum to view some incredible tanks and planes including Concorde, the SR-71 Blackbird and Spitfires.
History was a popular lesson amongst the children this term and they researched the Wright Brothers and Amelia Earhart when learning about the origin of flight. Within Geography, children have studied different landmarks from around the world and attempted to identify examples of physical and human geography within each. In Literacy, children have researched and written fact files about their favourite planes. Some of our favourite stories this term were 'Marmaduke the Dragon' and 'A Sailing Boat in The Sky'. There were lots of other subjects - maths, science, ICT, french, art, DT, RE and PSHE happening in the background as well!
We celebrated the end of our topic in style. Children had the opportunity to go on the play bus on Monday 26th March and parents/carers were invited into school to create a transport based collage with their children on Thursday 29th March. We would like to thank all of the adults who came into school on Thursday 29th March to help with the collage. The children and teachers had a wonderful afternoon. We would also like to extend our thanks to every parent/carer for all of the help and support that you have offered during the spring term and throughout our Rocking, Rolling, Riding topic. Your continued support makes a huge difference! Here are our photos
All that is left to say is farewell Rocking, Rolling, Riding and hello Turrets and Tiaras.
