The Dragon Eye activity proved very popular with the children creating some amazing clay models.

We also had a LEGO challenge and the children certainly used their expertise to create some fantastic constructions – creating their class name out of the famous, tiny bricks.

Wren said:

At school I'm looking forward to our incredible trip to Bryher, which is off the cost of Cornwall and one of the islands of the Isles of Scilly. I'm looking forward  to it because I get to be outdoors and camp with my friends! I want to go there for it is close to the  sea and I love swimming.   

In lessons, I enjoy DT projects, art and science experiments. I'm enjoying maths, because I'm making sure I do Gold task and the mastery. I want to challenge myself to keep doing as well as I can!!!!!

On our table we work together and try to help each other / everyone in the class. 

I look forward to all of the sporting opportunities, and the chance to be creative in PE and the classroom.

My expectations for Yr5 are:

• Getting better at geography
• Continue to be happy
• Learn more history
• Do more DT projects

My reflections from Yr4 are:

• I enjoyed football.
• I loved Hilltops.
• Miss Tyrell was a fantastic teacher.

My holiday:

I went on holiday to Shrewsbury where we visited a Victorian village and we bought old fashioned sweets from one of the many old shops. We went to an interactive science museum, visited a zoo and went to Ironbridge which is a UNESCO World heritage site. We also visited Powys Castle in Wales. We also stayed in Winchester in a log cabin on a golf course. There was a beautiful green putting green and campers were allowed to use it. The hot tub was connected to the cabin so we used it every night. We visited Salisbury and Stonehenge, spent my mum’s birthday in the new forest and went to Portsmouth for the day and went up the Spinnaker Tower which used to be one of the tallest in Europe. I had a lovely holiday.

Yr 5:

We were all a bit apprehensive as Mr Dobson is our first male teacher but he is very nice.  There is more work and more pressure in year 5 but I am looking forward to it.

Jasmine’s Blog is on her reflections of Yr4:

I enjoyed it in year four when we went to Hilltops and went on the treetop trail. I am gutted that on the big swing I didn’t go all the way to the top. I am pleased that I learnt how to swim and move up a group in school swimming lessons. In year four I was working very hard on my handwriting and I succeeded to get my pen licence.

I have loved year five so far. Mr Dobson is a great teacher; he is fun and kind during lessons. I am loving the new selection of books we have including Cogheart, our class novel which is very adventurous and imaginative. I am pleased that it is only the third week back and I have already gained my pen licence.

Emma had a great summer break:

In the summer holidays, I went to several different holiday clubs but the best part was when I went to...SICILY! It was soooooo much fun! I went with my cousins (Lucy and Alexander), my mum and my dad, my grandma and grandpa, brother (William) and my auntie and uncle. There was a swimming pool and I swam with LOADS of fish and I saw a HUGE, orange starfish in The Mediterranean Sea. One of the best days was when I climbed Mount Etna (the tallest active volcano in Europe!!!).
