Easter coffee afternoon
Alex in 4D has sent us a fabulous blog about the Easter Coffee Afternoon... Thank you Alex :)
Today there was a coffee afternoon at school. It was really exciting and there were lots of cakes. I made some things for the coffee afternoon and baking them was really fun. The things I decided to make were some ginger bread (though I had to make 2 batches because some of the 1st were a bit underdone and the rest a bit burnt), and some rocky road with chocolate chips and marshmallows. I then brought them into school on a big platter on the morning of the coffee afternoon.
The coffee afternoon started at 3:00 and my mum and my sister picked me and my brother up and we were one of the first in the hall. The table full of cakes and biscuits looked amazing! It was really hard to choose something because it all looked really yummy. In the end I chose a cupcake with a face and a big red nose which turned out to be a cherry! After that, I got a drink of squash. Although it was a pound for children and one pound fifty for adults all the money goes to a good cause which is making the school garden look nicer than it already is. I had a brilliant time and it was a great success.
Thank you to everyone who baked something for the coffee afternoon and supported Dragonflies. I can’t wait for the next one!
