Autumn Term Music!
It has been a successful and productive term for the music department. It has been so good to see the school return to all music activities again.
Choir has grown to a size of 50 members which has really pleased Mrs frost and Mrs Simpson. Rehearsals are well under way for our exciting young Voices trip in January.
Recorder groups are up and running again, run at lunch times by Mrs Foster and Mrs Frost. We look forward to hearing the children perform for the first time over the course of the year.
Singing Assemblies are back on the timetable, and we are delighted that Mrs MacDonald our piano teacher has taken over the delivery of this, she is doing an excellent job.
It was lovely to see the Harvest Assembly so well attended by parents. The children from years 4-6 sang a beautiful variety of songs as a whole key stage and also in their year groups, with the choir performing to finish off the assembly.
We are now in the final rehearsals for years 3-6 Christmas Assembly on 14th December.
Early years and Key stage 1 have worked hard rehearsing and performing for their Nativity performances which have been held in the last two weeks of term. All children and staff have worked hard in preparation.
Mrs Frost held an informal concert for the saxophone and clarinet pupils this term. It was the first time they had all performed due to COVID restrictions of the past couple of years. They all played really well to parents and friends.
We currently have over 50 children learning a musical instrument, ranging from strings and guitar to woodwind and brass. Please do let the music department know if your child is interested in learning an instrument.
