Update 17.03.2020
Dear Parents/Carers
Thank you so much for making Tuesday morning work so well – what a fabulous community! Hopefully this afternoon will go just as smoothly – you will have to be patient with staff as they make sure every child goes with the right person.
I am very sorry that I wasn’t able to be on the playground myself but unfortunately my youngest has come down with a persistent cough and temperature so we have to take the official advice to self-isolate for 14 days. I am well and will continue to do as much as I can remotely to keep the school running and children safe and learning. If you have an appointment with me in the next fortnight we can either converse by email headteacher@thehillsacademy.co.uk or by arranging a time for me to phone you (email me with a suggested time and the best contact number).
Some people who are family isolating are asking about the refund of lost music lessons etc and I haven’t addressed this as yet. The usual rule is that if you are off sick you are still liable for the fee. I am sure you understand that these peripatetic staff have only this source of income and encourage you not to bother them with refund requests.
Please don’t forget our foodbank drive.
There will be another update tomorrow including instructions to access set work via the school website.
It’s a bit fiddly but I thoroughly recommend you sign up as a parent to www.Khanacademy.org
You can register your children and there are some great learning experiences if you want to follow a program.
Best wishes
Moya
